Turn the single’s cover into the release-day post, the Story and the pre-save reminder, all from one animated album cover.
Make an animated album cover from the song and the artwork you already have. Drop both on EzVisualizer and the cover starts moving with the music: a halo that pulses on every kick, particles that burst on the beat, a record that spins, or a slow push-in. Save it as an MP4 with the song in 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 or 16:9, or as a GIF that loops forever. Preview free with no sign-up; downloads carry no watermark, and your files never leave your browser.
An animated album cover is cover art in motion: the square image your fans already know, moving with the song in a post, a Story or a video. There are two kinds. In one, the artwork stays exactly as you made it and the music supplies the motion: a glow, rings of spectrum, particles or a spin, all on the beat. In the other, AI redraws the picture so clouds drift or a face turns; for that, use the AI music video generator. EzVisualizer makes the first kind from your own song, right in your browser. The usual ways to animate album cover art fall short:
One song and one cover in; an animated album cover out, in four frames, as an MP4 or a GIF.
The tool analyzes your song first, so the pulse lands on your kicks and the glow swells with your bass, not a stock loop’s.
Halo, Still, Particles, Vinyl and Circle, each with dark color themes, beat bursts, bass shake and moving blur to mix in.
Square 1:1 and 4:5 for the feed, 9:16 for Stories and Reels, 16:9 for YouTube, all at 1080p.
Export the whole song or a clip with its audio, or a silent album art GIF of 2 to 10 seconds that loops forever.
Preview every look without an account. Downloads carry no logo of ours, only your own if you add one.
Your song and cover are decoded and rendered in your browser tab, so an unreleased single stays private.
From a song file and a square image to an animated album cover you can post, in a browser on a phone or a computer.
Drop an MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC or OGG and a JPG, PNG or WebP cover on the tool above. An MP3 with embedded art brings its own cover. No files at hand? Load the demo song.
Halo opens first. Switch to Still, Particles, Vinyl or Circle, take the colors from the cover or a dark theme, and add beat bursts or bass shake.
Pick 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 or 16:9. Then MP4 for a video with the song, or GIF for a silent loop of 2 to 10 seconds.
Save the animated album cover to your device and post it, or drop it into your video editor. Need another frame? One click makes it with the same look.
Every look keeps your artwork at the center of the frame and moves it with the music, not with a timer.
Halo sets the cover, cropped round, in a glow that swells with the bass, ringed by two lines of spectrum. Still keeps the square cover whole and pushes in slowly, with no spectrum. Particles bursts dots out of the cover on every kick. Vinyl makes the cover the label of a record turning at a true 33⅓ or 45 rpm, in black, colored, marble or splatter vinyl; for a free PNG mockup of the record, open the vinyl visualizer. Circle wraps 120 spectrum bars around the cover, a look the circle audio visualizer covers in depth.
Pick a LookBefore the preview starts, EzVisualizer analyzes the song in your browser: loudness, bass, where every kick drum lands, and the tempo. Each look reads those numbers frame by frame, so the halo pulses on your kicks and the glow swells when the bass comes in. A quiet verse stays calm; the drop hits hard. That is the difference between an animated album cover made from the song and a stock loop with the track pasted under it. Intensity sets how far it all moves, from 50% for a ballad to 160% for a club track.
Watch the PulseOne design exports in four frames: 1:1 (1080×1080) for a square feed post, 4:5 (1080×1350) for the taller post that fills more of a phone screen, 9:16 (1080×1920) for Stories, Reels, TikTok and Shorts, and 16:9 (1920×1080) for YouTube. The cover stays centered and the look reflows to fit. After one export, a single click makes the same animated album cover in the next frame. 16:9 also comes in 4K where your browser can encode it.
Pick a FrameChoose GIF for a silent loop of 2 to 10 seconds, 4 by default, 480 or 720 px wide at 15 or 24 fps, in any of the four frames. When the song’s tempo is known, the length snaps to whole 4/4 bars and the loop starts on a downbeat; with the Vinyl look it snaps to whole turns of the record. Every movement is fitted to the loop, so the last frame flows into the first. Pick one palette (smaller, no flicker) or one per frame (richer color); the tool shows an estimated file size before you export.
Make a GIFColors come from your artwork by default; pick one yourself, or switch to one of six dark themes: Electric, Magenta, Toxic, Ember, Violet or Mono. Behind the cover goes a blurred copy of it, a gradient, or a solid color. Then layer on motion: beat bursts throw particles out of the cover on every kick, bass shake jolts the whole frame on the low end, and moving blur lets the colors behind the art drift. Add the title and artist, plus your own logo in any corner. Ready-made combinations live in the music visualizer templates.
Style ItRelease week asks for the same artwork in a lot of places, and a still image gets scrolled past. Make the animated album cover once and export it everywhere: a 4:5 post with the single on release day, a 9:16 Story with your link, an album art GIF in the newsletter and the Discord announcement, and a 16:9 upload of the full song for YouTube. Every version comes from one design, so they all match. The stores still take your static cover: design it in the album cover maker and check it on the album cover size guide. A Spotify Canvas has its own rules, so make that loop in the Spotify Canvas maker, and keep the animated album cover for everything else.
Make Your Release PostsThe demo song’s cover in the Halo look, drawn on this page by the engine from the demo song’s real analysis at 120 BPM.
What you are looking at
Video: 1080×1350 (4:5) MP4 with the song, 30 fps, the whole track or a 15, 30 or 60 second clip, saved as afterglow-halo-4x5.mp4. Look: Halo with colors from the cover, the blurred cover behind it, floating particles and the slow zoom and beat pulse on, title and artist centered under the art. GIF: the same animated album cover as a 4 second loop, exactly 2 bars at 120 BPM, 480×600 or 720×900, 15 or 24 fps, no sound; at 15 fps that is 60 frames. Other frames: 1080×1080, 1080×1920 and 1920×1080 from the same settings, one click each.
Both come from the same design. Pick by where the animated album cover will play.
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Shorts want video with sound. Post the 4:5 or 9:16 MP4 and the song plays from the first frame.
Newsletters, Discord, Slack, forums and web pages show a GIF where a video may not play, so the animated album cover still moves there, without sound.
Upload the whole song with the cover in the middle: the simplest visualizer video that keeps moving for its full length.
Put the MP4 on a track in CapCut, Premiere or DaVinci Resolve, or drop the GIF into a slide, a web page or a stream scene.

An animated album cover, also called animated album art, is cover art that moves, usually as a short video or a looping GIF posted with the song. EzVisualizer makes one by setting your artwork in a look that reacts to the music, such as a pulsing halo or a spinning record. For every other style, start from the audio visualizer on our homepage.
Drop your song and your cover on the tool above, pick a look and a frame, then export an MP4 with the song or a GIF loop. The preview plays at once, and the file is made in your browser and saved to your device.
Pick a tool whose templates keep the artwork in the middle and move with the beat. On this page EzVisualizer gives you five such looks, each with color themes and motion options, and its 24 ready-made music visualizer templates are sorted by genre and platform. Tools that redraw the artwork with AI are a different category: see the AI music video generator.
Yes. Choose GIF and you get a silent loop of 2 to 10 seconds, 480 or 720 px wide at 15 or 24 fps, in any of the four frames. When the tempo is known the loop snaps to whole bars and starts on a downbeat, so the album art GIF restarts on the beat. The GIF format has no audio track, so for the song to play, export the animated album cover as an MP4.
Making an animated album cover is free to try: preview every look with no sign-up. Signing up gives you one HD download at no charge. After that, a download needs a Single HD pass ($4.99 per song), the Release Kit ($9.99) or a plan from $7.99 a month (see pricing). A GIF counts as a download like an MP4, and no download carries a watermark.
Yes. A Single HD pass, or the HD download that comes with a new account, covers one song’s MP4 and GIF in the same frame, say 4:5. For the other frames too, the Release Kit or a plan covers every frame of the song, and the same song re-exports free for 30 days.
An animated album cover exports as video in 1:1 (1080×1080), 4:5 (1080×1350), 9:16 (1080×1920) and 16:9 (1920×1080) at 30 or 60 fps, plus 4K for 16:9 where your browser can encode it, with the Release Kit or a Creator or Pro plan, for clips up to 5 minutes. GIFs are 480 or 720 px wide in the same four frames.
For an animated album cover, use a square JPG, PNG or WebP of up to 25 MB, such as the file you send your distributor. Halo, Particles, Vinyl and Circle crop the cover into a circle, so keep the important part near the middle; Still shows the whole square. To check your art against store specs, see the album cover size guide.
No. Your cover stays exactly as you made it; the motion is light, rings, particles or a spin around it, driven by the music. To make the picture itself move, try the AI music video generator, which turns your cover into AI shots.
Spotify Canvas has its own rules for length and frame, and you upload it through Spotify for Artists. Make it in the Spotify Canvas maker, which is built for those loops. The files from this page are for posts, Stories, videos and GIFs.
Not directly. Motion artwork on Apple Music is delivered through your distributor, to Apple’s own specs. The Apple Music visualizer explains that route and makes promo videos for songs on Apple Music.
Yes. Type them in the Text tab and they appear under the cover, in a corner, as a poster or big and centered. You can put your own logo in any corner too; it is yours, not a watermark of ours.
Yes, as long as you own or have permission for the music and the artwork. The videos and GIFs you export are yours, including for commercial use, as our terms say.
No. Both are decoded and rendered inside your browser tab, and the MP4 or GIF is made on your device, so an unreleased song stays with you.
The cover itself, store specs, tags, a Canvas loop and AI shots for the same record.
Drop a song and its cover on this box and the animated album cover maker opens on Halo, with your art in the middle. Pick a look and a frame, then save an MP4 with sound or a looping GIF. Free preview, no watermark on downloads.
